Rachel & Steven’s Wedding at The Royal College of Surgeons
This is quite a strange blog post for me to write, as none of these pictures were taken by us. They were taken by our incredible friends Liam Crawley (www.cgweddings.co.uk) and Phillip Allen (www.misterphill.com) just a few hours after our son was born at the other end of the country. Words can’t really express just how grateful we are to these guys for stepping in for us! We’re also pretty fortunate that they happen to be two of the best wedding photographers in the country.
Thanks also to Rachel & Steven for being so brilliant about it too, I was really hoping to be able to make it but Bertie had other ideas!
As I wasn’t there, it’s quite hard to know what to write about their wedding! Just looking through the pictures I can see that it was an amazing day, but I think Phill’s brief report to me works better:
“Steven and Rachel were adorable. Truly lovely people. Everyone was fantastic. I think it may have been the best groom’s speech, or any speech at a wedding or elsewhere for that matter, that I’ve witnessed.”

Brings back some great memories, what a wedding it was! Rachel and Steven were an absolute dream couple to shoot, they made us feel like part of the family 🙂 I’m really glad both Phil and I did you, Laura, and Bertie proud but I know you would do the same for us at the drop of a hat 🙂

I love how you’ve pulled all of this together, Pete. I don’t think that I’ve anticipated a blog feature more! :~) I told you in a text message that morning, “This one’s for Albert!” and I wanted to be there for you and for Laura too, but we take wedding photographs for our couples of course and once I’d met Steven and then Rachel, it was oh so much for them as well that I wanted to do the very best that I could. Such a gregarious, generous and genuine couple and a wedding day that was a ceaseless procession of energy and joy. It was fantastic too to be able to work alongside Liam, a commensurate professional, unstoppable and thoughtful to the end. You’ve done your clients proud in ensuring that every base is covered for them.
Love it!!! Such a fun wedding & Phil and Liam have really captured the spirit of the whole day. Totally fantastic work and what a blessing it is to be able to look out for each other like that and step in when needed.
Whoah, creative dream team! Great works guys and seamlessly flits between Liam and Phill’s coverage. Love the use of the videographers light (I actually can’t imagine him being ‘in the way’ when his video light helped create some really stunning shots) and great portraits. Love the shot with the shadow owl eyes – brilliant 🙂
A lovely job and what kind and talented people Phill and Liam are for so obviously putting their all into helping you out. They’ve done you proud. Beautifully post-processed too, though! 😉
