Holiday!

We scooted off to France a couple of weeks ago, which was a lovely break in the middle of ‘wedding season’.  We were due to drive down to Folkestone on Tuesday morning and cross via Eurotunnel at lunchtime.  However after taking so long packing and only finishing at 2am on Monday night, we figured rather than getting a pathetic amount of sleep we would just drive through the night and not get any sleep at all.  It seemed like a really good idea at the time.

We were still happy even if we were half asleep!

Luckily we didn’t have to wait until our scheduled crossing and we could just get going!  I’d like to mention at this point that you should never try and sleep on the crossing – it is impossible (even with a pillow you brought from home).

I was so tired I forgot to take pictures, that NEVER happens.  I did take this one of what I’d like to think is a Frenchman…

After sleeping like babies I was ready to snap away!

I bought these sunglasses; the lovely French lady fitted them perfectly for me in the opticians even though I could only communicate with smiles and nods and the odd “tres bien” “merci”…

I was getting upset that I didn’t have a bride and groom to photograph so Pete jumped into this field to model for me!

Apart from messing around in fields we also did some serious relaxing…

We had a ‘bellinis on the balcony’ afternoon one day.  That was brilliant.

  • Walking with Rosie

Last week we took a break from hibernating in front of our computer screens and went for a wander with our friend Rosie.  For once it wasn’t raining (hurrah!); armed with our cameras and a couple of cosy hats we ventured into the hills.  Good times 🙂

  • Man of the woods

Albert loves being outside.  We decided to make the most of this lovely weather we’ve been having and go exploring in the woods at Beacon Fell.  Such a gorgeous, peaceful place (even more so in the sunshine!).

  • Laura

This is my friend Laura.  We met on the first day of high school (“hi my name’s Laura” “No WAY so’s MINE!”) and bonded over our love of stationery, Clueless, making up dances, and our entrepreneurial spirit (we made a fortune selling decorative objects made of salt dough at school fetes).  Here are some pictures I…

  • Just Us

In the down time before ‘wedding season’ is in full swing we are enjoying having lots of fun play time with Albert.  He loves being outside, marvelling at the trees and the sounds of the birds; we are going to have so much fun this summer when he can totter around and really explore! If…
