Best of 2014
[dropcap]W[/dropcap]hat a year it’s been! We’ve watched our little baby celebrate his first birthday, shot forty weddings, lots of portrait shoots, travelled both for weddings and for fun… and eaten an awful lot of late night takeaways! It’s been something of a blur to be honest, so it’s been really good to sit down and pick some of our favourite wedding and portrait pictures from the year. One of the best parts of this job is that we can actually look back and see where all the time went, and see what we made – these pictures are our babies too 🙂
The year started in one of the best ways possible – a trip down to London to pick up our ‘best north west photographer’ award from the Wedding Industry Awards. The nicest part of these awards is the party where you get to meet lots of other photographers, and this has been something we’ve really enjoyed this year. The highlight, obviously, being the annual Fake Xmas – it will always have a special place in our hearts!
We’ve also started posting much more frequently on our personal blog: www.thelawsons.co.uk. Taking lots of pictures of our lives has always been something we’ve loved to do (and how we got into photography in the first place!), but it’s been something we’d been neglecting. Having a baby has given us the excuse to start doing it excessively again. Definitely something we’re going to keep up this year!
2015 is looking to be just as awesome as 2014. So many amazing weddings coming up, and enough cake and chocolate (not to mention mulled wine) to see us through till at least next week. Maybe we’ll even take up running again… once we’ve finished with the cake that is.
Here’s to 2014. You were good to us.
