Having an Epiphanie

I am obsessed with handbags.  Mulberry, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, and now you can add Epiphanie to that list.  So often I have thought to myself “I wish there was a camera bag which looks like a regular handbag”, but I could never find one pretty enough.  Until now that is.

While my regular camera bag (a Think Tank Urban Disguise 50) is great for shooting with, it’s a bit on the large side for carrying around on a day to day basis.  Sometimes I want to take my camera out for the day, and I don’t need 5 lenses, a flash and a reflector.  What I particularly love about the Epiphanie range is that while they have all the inner workings of a camera bag (lots of padding, dividers and plenty of pockets) they really don’t look like camera bags at all.

Epiphanie camera bags are made in the U.S. (but thankfully ship worldwide) by photographer Maile Wilson.  There are lots of gorgeous options available, but I instantly fell in love with Lola, a big red beauty full of funky details.  I was so excited to receive this big box last week, I couldn’t wait to get it out and take it for a spin!

The dust bag (which matches the colour of the inside of Lola) is a great touch!

There’s plenty of room inside for my 5D MkII with a 50mm lens attached and a spare lens, plus general essentials such as wallet, keys, phone etc.

It also comes with a comfy shoulder strap which you can attach to the D rings, although so far I’ve opted to use it without; the two main straps are the perfect length so the bag fits perfectly on my shoulder.

I took my new purchase with me to London last weekend…

I love it.  It’s extremely well made and comfortable, and was ideal for an occasion such as this when I wanted to be a bit stealth with my camera.  I hope this new addition to my handbag collection encourages me to take my camera out to play much more often!

  • Walking with Rosie

Last week we took a break from hibernating in front of our computer screens and went for a wander with our friend Rosie.  For once it wasn’t raining (hurrah!); armed with our cameras and a couple of cosy hats we ventured into the hills.  Good times 🙂

  • New USBs

Our shiny new USB sticks from usbmemorydirect.com arrived in the post!  Ok, they’re not shiny, they’re all rustic and wooden, but we love them so we thought we’d share a few pictures of them in all their glory 🙂

  • Man of the woods

Albert loves being outside.  We decided to make the most of this lovely weather we’ve been having and go exploring in the woods at Beacon Fell.  Such a gorgeous, peaceful place (even more so in the sunshine!).

  • Laura

This is my friend Laura.  We met on the first day of high school (“hi my name’s Laura” “No WAY so’s MINE!”) and bonded over our love of stationery, Clueless, making up dances, and our entrepreneurial spirit (we made a fortune selling decorative objects made of salt dough at school fetes).  Here are some pictures I…

  • Just Us

In the down time before ‘wedding season’ is in full swing we are enjoying having lots of fun play time with Albert.  He loves being outside, marvelling at the trees and the sounds of the birds; we are going to have so much fun this summer when he can totter around and really explore! If…

  1. This bag looks great! I felt the same as you and found the Kelly Moore B Hobo bag which is the same kind of thing and it’s so nice to be able to take your camera with a lens on out with you! Much more practical than a lens changer type bag!

  2. Very swish, I might have to ask Santa to bring me one 🙂 I had a look at the Kelly Moore bags too but these looks very nice too! Thanks 🙂

  3. Wow, you stylish kitten you!! That’s a rather beautiful bag and the fact it holds your camera etc such an added bonus, I think I will be adding one of those to my wish list!
