Rachel & Rob’s Wedding at Samlesbury Hall

Peter — Fri, 04 Feb 2022 11:12:42 +0000

This was a beautiful wedding at Samlesbury Hall – a fantastic Tudor house just down the road from Preston. Filled with history and (if you believe in that kind of thing) ghosts – it is almost 700 years old after all! We love the black and white look of the dark timber frames, it’s just a stunning and unique wedding venue.

Rachel got ready in the Gatehouse of Samlesbury Hall while Rob was five minutes down the road at The Millstone in Mellor. The wedding ceremony was in the lovely Whittaker Room which is actually brighter than you’d think – so good for pictures!

It was definitely an emotional day, with lots of tears from Rachel’s dad when he saw her in the dress for the first time, and he wasn’t alone in this! Our overriding memory of the day is all the big smiles and big laughs. Just look at the pictures – everyone had a great time! There were pizzas too. They were delicious. Weddings are awesome

I have to give a shout out to the fantastic Gillan Edgar Band who brought the party home at the end of the night with style!

Steph & Martin’s wedding at Samlesbury Hall

This was such a fun wedding, and what a way to start our year! Steph lights up any room with an infectious laugh, and Martin is the one to make her laugh so much. Fabulous friends and family (including a former photographer father of the bride – no pressure!). Samlesbury Hall was the perfect backdrop – we love the light here!

We have to also mention their fabulous florist, Flower Design, and brilliant videographer, Toast of Leeds. So nice to work with such lovely people.

Hazel & Sietze’s Wedding at Samlesbury Hall

Laura — Mon, 09 Mar 2015 21:24:23 +0000

Hazel and Sietze celebrated their wedding at the beautiful Samlesbury Hall, with a blessing led by Sietze’s father, in both English and Dutch. It was a fantastic day complete with gorgeous rustic flowers and candles everywhere and a simply spectacular firework display in the evening. We were even treated to a ‘first look’; a secret rendezvous under the trees when they couldn’t stop smiling at each other

For the many children who were invited there was an enormous soft play area to keep them entertained while the grown ups drank their mulled wine. The place was of huge historical interest to lots of them, and they spent much of the day hunting for orbs and ghosts in the notoriously haunted building. I’ve checked and we have no orbs to report in our photos, so hopefully they had more luck!

Huge congratulations Hazel and Sietze! x

Jayne & Patrick’s Wedding at Samlesbury Hall

The gorgeous winter wedding of a really lovely pair. Samlesbury Hall is wonderful in winter, open fires, winter pimms and lots of snuggling together for warmth

Flower Design did their thing, creating magical floral arrangements and bouquets, and Jayne chose an amazing Claire Pettibone number – she looked amazing!

Congratulations Jayne and Patrick! xx

Harley & Dan’s Wedding at Samlesbury Hall

Harley & Dan are just great fun to be around, I don’t think anything could have spoiled their day. Fortunately, nothing even tried to – even the weather held out long enough for us to ramble into the undergrowth at Samlesbury Hall.

We had the pleasure of working with the lovely CineMate films who had come all the way down from Glasgow!

Thanks for having us along Harley & Dan! Hope you’re having a lovely honeymoon x
