Emily & Daniel got ready at Peckforton Castle before heading off for a church ceremony where there were lots of tears during the vows. We headed back to the castle for the reception, with the meal and hilarious speeches in the Hexagonal Room. Ending the day with an epic dance floor in the Great Hall. Complete with handstands and Ceilidh dances (I always have to google how to spell that).

We also got to explore some more of the beautiful grounds and find even more hidden spots for portraits – Peckforton Castle really is the venue that keeps on giving! Every little path off from that magnificent drive is a treasure trove. We also got a lovely little silhouette under the entrance archway with the castle in the background. We may be all about the natural wedding pictures, but we still love to make the most of what’s in front of us!

The ceremony was held in the Great Hall which added a lovely touch of dramatic spectacle to the wedding. The beautiful stone walls just scream ‘castle’, while also adding a touch of elegance and history. You can have the wedding ceremony facing either direction in this room. Thankfully Laura & Emily chose the way with the best light (we photographers care about this kind of thing)! We moved into the Hexagon Room for the meal and speeches before everyone headed back to the Great Hall to party the night away.

We’d like to make a special mention to Laurel Weddings for their gorgeous florals. They perfectly set off the travel themed decorations (including a fabulous luggage cake from Cakes by Beth). Also – we could help but admire the hot air balloons hanging from chandeliers – does it actually get any better than that?

They made Peckforton Castle their home for the day, and filled it with lots of laughter.  As well as celebrating their marriage, it was also Richard’s 30th birthday.  I’m sure he will have high hopes for his next birthday after a party like this!

Asha & Brian came all the way over from Dallas to have their wedding at Peckforton Castle, and seeing as there’s quite a lack of rain over there at the moment, even our inclement weather was something of a pleasant novelty!  So much so that half the wedding party went for a run in the morning as they were enjoying the mild weather – out door running is apparently a lot harder in the heat of Texas!

Peckforton Castle was recently subject to an arson attack so were a little worried to see what shape it was in.  We’re very happy to report that the damage is completely hidden from view, and I dare say that the new marque for the evening reception might actually be an improvement.

Having sorted out the legal stuff back in Texas, they had a lovely humanist ceremony – still my favourite type of service!

Shelly & Iain had planned lots of little extras into their day to make it special to them, including a birds of prey exhibition after the wedding ceremony, and a surprise ceilidh in the evening.

Peckforton Castle was the perfect venue for a smaller wedding, everything was held in the Library room, one we’ve never really been in before – but it’s fantastic and pretty bright (not something that can normally be said about Peckforton!).

Yang’s makeup artist bailed on them the day before the wedding (not cool), but Peckforton Castle now has its own salon and makeup stand – crisis averted!This is Yang & Ian’s utterly adorable daughter, and seriously – how cute is she?!Ian was going for a Fred Astaire look, it rocked The lovely thing about having a smaller wedding here is that it really lets the character of the castle show throughYang’s parents had flown over from China especially for the wedding, and despite not speaking any English they communicated perfectly through the universal language of gesture!  In this shot, Yang was already 10 minutes late!They are so cute together!
