Charlotte + Rickie’s Wedding at Formby Hall – Part One

Charlotte and Rickie officially had the most CRAZY weather on their wedding day – we had glorious sunshine, gales and torrential downpours! They had their reception at the lovely Formby Hall and filled it full of gorgeous details (themed around their fabulous American honeymoon plans). It was such a fun day!

Meanwhile Pete was hanging out with the boys…

The ceremony was held at Saint John’s Church…

When we left the church the sky was blue; when we arrived at Formby Hall we were greeted with this…

Luckily the sun came out again in time for a few portraits…

Dancing time! The DJ was the lovely Jeff Wood, we were loving his amazing new white sparkly dance floor!

Wedding at Stanley House – Bernadette + JP Part 1

A couple of weeks ago we photographed the lovely wedding of Bernadette & JP. It was our first time at Stanley House which is a really lovely venue surrounded by beautiful grounds, and some cows – but more of them in part 2. We also liked all the Todd White prints everywhere – we got one for our first anniversary a couple of years ago but I don’t think our collection is ever going to compete with this place!

Bernadette & JP are a wonderfully cute couple, which we discovered on their engagement shoot a few months ago. They just make each other laugh, all the time. Awesome.

Anyway, here are some pictures!
The vicar offered Monkey and a Lion to Bernadette & Tiger to symbolise each other. Or for use as voodoo dolls. I was at the back of the church so I didn’t hear exactly which.
Coming up next in part 2 – the cows attack, speeches, and some great dancing action.

Carrying on from the fun filled part 1…

No cows were harmed in the making of the next two photographs. On the subject of cows, am I the only person who wants to run away from cows when they all march towards you? Laura, Bernadette & JP all seemed to think I was a little crazy for wanting to get out of there! Still, I think it was worth it!

Marie + Callum’s Wedding at Mavis Hall Park – Part One

Marie and Callum decided on a Scottish wedding, and oh my this was a Scottish wedding indeed – complete with a piper, a loch side ceremony, highland games, a ceilidh in a barn and a bonfire. The ceremony and reception were held at Mavis Hall Park, which is such an amazing place (and run by lovely people too!).

The best thing about this wedding was the atmosphere. It’s not every day you’re invited to a wedding and told to bring wellies, jeans and a fighting spirit for the tug of war, and it was amazing how much the guests really got into the spirit of things! We also LOVED the humanist ceremony, it was just so personal; such a shame we can’t legally do that in England too, but I must say if we got married again (to each other of course!) we would do it anyway and go to the registry office the next day!

We were joined at this wedding by lovely Scottish photographer (and friend of ours) James Pearson, who has posted some images of the day over on his blog.

On with the photos! We joined the action at Carberry Tower where everyone was getting ready…

Marie was ready come rain or shine!

Callum was busy getting ready with his best man/bro…

This clever trio spent the morning picking flowers to make Marie’s bouquet…

They did a great job!
