Day After Shoot – Lhacy + Ash

So, it was pretty cold on the day of Lhacy & Ash’s wedding, and rainy… and Lhacy had a silk wedding dress. So rather than ruin a perfectly good wedding dress, we decided to do a shoot the day after the wedding.

A Walk in the Fog

We went for a walk in the fog around Haigh Hall with these lovely folk, then went home, drank mulled wine and watched x factor…the perfect Sunday!

Family Portraits with Hotpoint and Steve McCurry

We are delighted to have been chosen to be on the UK judging panel for an amazing competition being run by Hotpoint.

Let me tell you about the prize first, because it’s pretty darned amazing: a portrait shoot with the amazing photographer Steve McCurry. His pictures are amazing! He’s a member of Magnum Photos, which is basically the most elite photography group in the world (founded by legendary photographers like Robert Capa and Henri Cartier-Bresson). He’s even had pictures on the cover of National Geographic! We want a shoot with him!

Not only do you get the shoot though, you also get flown out to New York with your family to do it! Here are a couple of his lovely pictures:

How do you win this awesome prize? You sumbit your family portraits here (and cross your fingers!).

If you have no family portraits to enter, then use this as your excuse to go and take some. They don’t have to be posed, or in any way technically perfect, the point of a portrait is to capture character. Have fun with it!

The Fazasons

Last weekend we got chance to catch up with our photo takin’ buddy Simon Fazackarley while he was up north shooting a wedding. We ate a load, drank a fair amount, did a bit of bowling and highlighted our complete inability to remember how Monopoly works. Good times.

It was Sunday, so a pub lunch was the place to start…

The first time we met Simon we all ordered the biggest burgers I have ever seen; seriously, we had to eat it with a knife and fork. This burger wasn’t that fat, but still needed squashing…

Luckily we don’t have a video of the bowling itself, so I can tell you that I’m really great at it.

Best out of 3 games wins. Pete won all 3. Show off.

What’s the difference between a 12 year old and a 28 year old (or a 24 year old…gotta say that or Simon will get upset)? Nothing.

The next morning we scooted over to Trof in Manchester for brekkie

Last week we did a little portrait shoot with Danielle and Richard. It was Richard’s birthday, so they were having lunch at The Alma Inn (where their wedding reception will be in August, can’t wait!). They were literally hysterical with laughter the whole time – love it!
