Here, finally, is the slideshow of Rachel & Julian’s Moroccan wedding adventure! As this was our first destination wedding we were beyond excited to be part of it all and we’re really happy with the pictures we got. We want to go back soon (but maybe not for too long, it’s pretty hot)!

The day before Rachel & Julian’s Wedding in Marrakech – a Slideshow

Here is the slideshow from the day before Rachel & Julian’s fabulous destination wedding in Marrakech. They had a fun tour of the Marrakech Night Market (Djemaa el Fna) followed by a ride back to their villa by Caleches (horse drawn carriages) which gave us a great chance to capture some of the sights of Marrakech. The night ended with some wonderful food up on the roof terrace of the villa – we even had a sunset! This was all organised by Rosena and Fred of Boutique Souk who were amazing!

Rachel & Julian’s Wedding in Marrakech – Part One

As if being in Marrakech and hanging out with lovely people on a rooftop eating delicious tagine isn’t enough (see previous post about the night before!), we were totally spoiled on Saturday with an amazing wedding to photograph! The weather was better than it had been all week and we were raring to go. As with most elements of their amazing weekend, the credit must go to Rosena and Fred of Boutique Souk for their impeccable planning, organisation and attention to detail.

Rachel had chosen the perfect dress…

Meanwhile Julian returned from a morning of golf with the boys…

The day before Rachel told us how “un-photogenic” she is…WHATEVER!

Rachel & Julian’s Wedding in Morocco – The Night Before

When Rachel and Julian asked if we would consider shooting their wedding in Morocco we didn’t think twice about it. For a start, we have always wanted to do a destination wedding. Plus I have always wanted to visit Marrakech. Also we had already met Rachel’s side of the family at her sisters wedding last year and knew that everybody would be lovely We decided to make a holiday of it and stay for a week (under the pretence that we would be getting acclimatised to the hot weather!), and had been looking forward to it for months. Normally when you think about how awesome something is going to be, it never quite lives up to the expectation; but this wedding was everything we hoped it would be and a lot more!

Aside from the beautiful venue, the exciting details, the fabulous weather etc. we were blown away with how welcoming Rachel and Julian were to us, we really felt like part of the wedding. The event organisers, Rosena and Fred of Boutique Souk, were also incredible…anyone thinking of getting married in Marrakech should get them on board!

The evening before the wedding there was lots planned for all the guests, so we met them over at their villa and followed them like paparazzi for a few hours! Here’s the lovely and exceptionally smiley Rachel…

You may recognise Erica and Martin from our website (we photographed their gorgeous wedding last October!)

We headed to the night market in Marrakech where there was lots of mingling and a guide who led us to the awesome mint tea!

Here’s Julian. Believe it or not he is JUST as smiley as his bride!

After the tour we jumped on ‘Caleches’ (horse drawn carriages) which took us back to the villa. Despite being a total wuss to start with (we were sitting up with the drivers), I absolutely loved it! Plus they don’t go very fast so we were snapping away trying to get cool street scene shots!

This is my favourite, I may have to get this up in our house somewhere!

Time to introduce the amazing villa…drum roll please….

An amazing roof top party had been arranged, it was simply stunning!

Erica was being a dutiful sister/bridesmaid and taking Polaroid’s for the place cards (you’ll see them soon on the wedding post!)

This guy had some crazy pouring skills!
