Last week we spent a few days exploring the beautiful city of Prague. We hadn’t planned this jaunt, in fact it was Pete’s parents’ holiday – that is until John couldn’t take time away from work and we gladly took the trip off their hands
Yippee! Neither of us had visited Prague before, but as we both LOVE cities, we knew we would have lots of fun exploring (and taking pictures of course!).
What do you need to cope with being at an airport at 5.30am? Coffee and a photo mag!

We stayed in the lovely Charles Hotel, which is in a great location near to the Charles Bridge…

Gorgeous room…

The view from our window was fantastic!

We did some exploring…

The Charles Bridge is always packed with tourists…

Good view though![]()

Over the bridge is Stare Mesto (Old Town)…

The Old Town Square…

The first cafe break…this place did the BEST hot chocolate!

Next we headed to Grand Cafe Orient for lunch, which is a super stylish cafe in a cubist building (House of the Black Madonna). This was probably our favourite find (thanks Pete’s guidebook!)

Next up was a brief look at Nove Mesto (New Town), which was totally worth it if only for this shot of Pete with a building growing out of his head…

No need to give me evils!

Here’s me being touristy…

We went on a mission to find Cafe Montmartre, which is a historic place of hedonism (now converted into an atmospheric coffee house!)…apparently it was a place of jazz, opium, absinthe and orgies…ooh er!

Found it!

The Charles Bridge by night…

I hogged the brolly![]()

The next day and we geared up to trek in the other direction towards the castle and Hradcany

The castle is at the top of a huge hill. Most people get the tram up there, not us! (For the record – get the tram, we almost passed out!)

We saw the changing of the guards at the castle gates…

This guy was pretty moody…

Inside the castle gates are some beautiful buildings, including this beautiful cathedral…

Another cafe! This time we chose the Lobkowicz Palace Cafe, which had awesome views…

…and patio heaters!

We were determined to get some cool shots of the bridge…

Portraits can be dangerous

Happy face…

Sad face…

And finally my favourite picture…
It was such a fun trip, Prague definitely gets the Lawson stamp of approval! A big thank you to John and Christine for this wonderful break! XX

Looks gorgeous – great pictures guys, looks like you had a fab time
Awwwww how gorgeous. I’m totally inspired and off to dig out our Paris pics. Love ‘em!
Prague looks amazing – such beautiful buildings, streets, bridges… LOVE your photographs (and narrative), I think Prague will have a massive increase in tourists if enough people see the stunning photos on this blog post! I like the shot of the building growing out of Pete’s head (and the one with the street light too)!!
LOL
Wow what amazing photos – looks like you had a blast! What a beautiful place!
Love these! Especially the brolly picture – very cool.
What a lovely set of photos here guys – awesome! Looks like you had an amazing time, and its great to have such a wicked set of photos to remember it by. Fantastic stuff guys! Think me and Beki will be going to Prague sometime next year so may well be picking your brains!! sj.p
Great shots guys! Look like you had an awesome time!! Loving the lens baby shots & all the super portraits!! =)
Awesome pics! I really like the colour treatment you’ve given the photos, to add to the rustic feel of the whole city.
Also good to see some pics of the two of you together, instead of all the ones of other people!
Bet that must’ve been a nice break!
Love ‘em!
looks like you had great fun! Loving the colours in the last shot – beautiful!
Wowee! Stunning photos, and beautiful colour treatments that have really brought out the textures. It looks lovely there and obvious you had a fun break. The last shot is like an oil painting and deserves a nice, fancy frame.
Some cracking shots there of a beautiful city. Particularly like the Kubista exterior photo for some reason.. I think it’s the colours
