This was a really fun and different wedding for us to shoot. Ricky’s family are originally from Germany and Matt’s family are from France, and some of the guests didn’t speak German or French, and some didn’t speak English either - so it was great fun to watch everyone try to get along! Thankfully Ricky & Matt were always on hand to translate when needed, I don’t think my rusty French and non-existent German would have sufficed!
Ricky and Matt are a fabulous couple. Together they can take on pretty much anything and as their desire to have a great wedding was unquestionable, nothing was going to get in the way of that! A mix up by the wedding cars caused them both to be 5 minutes late, and the Dukinfield registrars then insisted they be interviewed together before the ceremony (completely unnecessarily in my opinion!), but despite all this extra stress they still managed to enjoy every moment of the day!
The bride being beautified in the morning:
Ricky’s fantastic cat shoes! It’s always great to see some personality come across in the details.
Cat and cat shoes! Laura wanted to adopt this cat!

Time for some portraits!
Laura was rocking the lensbaby on one of her cameras, love it!
Matt challenged us to get a shot of his dad smiling (something deemed impossible when he knows there’s a camera about!). We like a challenge!
Dancing time!

Just before we left, these awesome cakes appeared! Ricky was lovely enough to run and get us one as we were leaving – thanks Ricky!!
Congratulations Ricky & Matt! Hope you have a wonderful honeymoon! X

These photos are brilliant! You both have such a great eye for detail and it looked like a perfect day! There are some brilliant portraits in there and the lighting is just brilliantly balanced. Well done!
This is a great post. I really love the kitchen shot in the bridal preps especially. Martin Parr – eat your heart out. Oh, and the shoes, of course:) All packed full of character!
